Episode 1: Night 1.1 - Prologue

"Is everyone here?" Laura counted the heads standing on her tip toes as more people crowded around her in the small shop. Some people were still helping themselves to the pizza and chips on the front table and soda was being passed from one person to another.

"Grab me another slice!" Jiko yelled over to his friend Sean stuffing his face with a handful of chips.
"Get it yourself." He said.

"Move so you can see better." Devin told her younger sister.
"I can see just fine." Maddy replied as she shifted a little bit forward pushing someone to the side.

"I don't see the Levinas sisters." Someone noted.
"Talia is still in Israel but Joelle never said she wasn't coming." Laura rifled through her clipboard to double check the names of those who wouldn't be in attendance. "Yes besides Talia, everyone should be here."

"Sean! Can't you write your name legibly on this sheet?!"
"Who said that?" Sean said through his slice of pizza.
"Who else, ass?" Von yelled over the crowd. "I'm fixing this."

"Okay, let's get this meeting started so we can all leave."
"David, shut up!"
"Why don't you shut up Lauren?"
"I'll come over there and MAKE you shut up."

"Guys stop it!" Adrienne glared at the two.

Laura continued to speak as those in the front looked on intently and those in the back crossed their arms and looked around the room at other people's expression.

Kelly smirked.
"What's so funny?" Becca whispered.
"Nothing. Eric just has that goofy smile again whenever he's around JC." They both giggled. Eric didn't notice.

The meeting was moving along, a few stragglers, including Joelle, finally arrived at the store, packing even more tightly as the food disappeared and people's patience and attention span waned.

"Okay remember the honey stick in Chai Lattes."

"There are honey sticks in the Chai Lattes?" Christa whispered to Annie right next to her. Annie smiled and shrugged her shoulders.

Suddenly the lights flickered. Everyone looked up as the lights above the stands began to dance an eerie glow.

"Woah, a rave!" Jiko and Sean began to laugh and dance around. The lights in the kitchen then went black. Helena, who was standing there, let out a small scream.

"Everyone calm down." The managers went to the back to find the switchboard. "Susie, can you see if there are any flashlights in the attic? The office lights seem to be working still." Adrienne asked.
"Sure I'll go check."

The flickering lights slowly dimmed. The rave stopped. A group of the younger high school girls began to huddle around each other. "Can we leave?" One of them asked.

"Yeah, yeah..." Laura said flustered.

Helena screamed again as all the lights in the store went pitch black.
"What's going on!" Nina asked from the back hallway flicking the switches.

"All the lights are out on the street." Rachel said moving to the door to peer out the window. "That's strange..."

"What is it?" Joelle said moving up behind her.
"There are a lot of abandoned cars out there...but there aren't any people."
"Excuse me?"
"Yeah look." Joelle took Rachel's spot.

"I don't see anything..."
CRASH.

The sound of broken glass caused everyone to turn around towards the entrance.
"OH MY GOD..." was the last thing Von could say before chaos ensued.
